Free Album "Gazing At The Moonlight"

Hopsin releases "Gazing At The Moonlight" album for free

LOS ANGELES, CA May 27 - Up and coming rapper, Hopsin releases his debut album "Gazing At The Moonlight" for free to the public. "Gazing At The Moonlight" is Hopsin's first album to be released which features hit records such as Pans In The Kitchen, Gazing At The Moonlight, and Motherfucker which all talk about Hopsin's struggle for acceptance.

Like many kids, Hopsin wanted to be “cool”. But as hard as he tried, he never graduated past being that “weird black kid” that rode around on a skateboard. He tried to get attention by making people laugh, but he always ended up being the butt of the joke. He wrote songs for girls to get them to like him, but got no love.

Stuck in special education classes, Hopsin did not see much of a future. His teachers did nothing but reinforce the feelings that he wouldn’t amount to anything; especially if he continued to waste his time attending classes where nothing was actually being taught. So with no money and only a few real friends, Hopsin dropped out of school in 2004.

Hopsin gets his inspiration from all types of music, from 50 Cent & Alicia Keys to the All American Rejects. His creativity and raw energy come from all the people in his life that have told him that he didn’t have a future. At times his lyrics can be dark and grimy, but they only reflect all of the negativity that he has had to endure in order to get to where he is today.

Simply listening to Gazing At The Moonlight is like taking a nice breath of fresh air because it lets you know from the beginning that you are not listening to just any other rapper. With Hopsin self-producing every song on the album, Gazing At The Moonlight is nothing short of what is to be expected when one thinks of Hip Hop. From the first track to the last, the beats make your speakers explode, the lyrics are immensely creative, and virtually every track finds new ways to blow you away! It's hard to find any song on the album that doesn't stand out, from the head-bobbingly catchy "I'm Here", the eerie beat of "Chris Dolmeth", to the track that exemplifies Hopsin's style as a whole "Motherfucker". If you are a fan of rap or hip hop of any kind, you would be doing yourself an extreme disservice by passing up on the exponentially talented Hopsin and his amazing album Gazing At The Moonlight, which Hopsin is unleashing to the public for free.

Gregory Donovan A Reason To Be Cheerful
posted by: CME

Greg DonavonFew artists can ever have had as good a reason for creating music as Greg Donovan offers: “Because the world can always use more reasons to smile.”

Well, Amen to that. And to prove the point, Greg has set himself to the task of crafting 12 beautiful slices of uplifting folk, rock and pop perfection for his debut album, the enigmatically-titled "It Burned a Hole… Then It Flew Away."

The self-produced "It Burned A Hole…" is that rare thing in today’s music world – a record on which you can hear its creator’s love for the music come through on every note, in every song and in every word he sings.

Perhaps it’s because Greg, a med school graduate from Louisville, Kentucky, is not driven by the desire to achieve fame, stardom or to chase the money. He is someone genuinely doing what he loves both for himself and for the world at large. As he says, for him success is just someone loving his music.

Greg DonavonOne listen and you will hear what a special album he finally produced. A few more spins round the turntable and the depth and breadth of the man’s musical and songwriting talent shine through.

Growing up listening to the great songwriters of his early days like James Taylor, John Mayer, Sting, and Billy Joel helped make Greg the artist you can hear on "It Burned A Hole…". As a boy he tried to emulate his heroes, but clearly he’s now found his own voice and become his own man.

Put simply, this is an album of uncommon beauty and honesty made by an artist who has a unique voice and is not afraid to use it.

"It Burned A Hole…" will stay with you for a long, long time.

RISING MUSICAL TALENT ROB FILLO RELEASES SOPHOMORE ALBUM, ANGEL OF VICTORY
posted by: CME

Rob FilloVancouver, January 19th – Four years after his 2006 debut disc Cold Winter Drafts, singer/songwriter Rob Fillo is slated to release his locally acclaimed sophomore album Angel of Victory.

The album, described by Vancouver folk darling Karen Larson as “intoxicating” and “deeply intelligent”, is an indie rock stand-out with beautifully crafted tracks and thoughtful lyrics that display the raw, vocal intensity reminiscent of a young Eddie Vedder. A refreshing and soulful gem breaking-out in an era saturated by synthetic bloops and cynical musings, Angel of Victory is a self-produced musical achievement from one of B.C’s fastest rising talents.

Rob Fillo is a professional musician and sound engineer living and performing in Vancouver, BC. He is also the chair of the Vancouver Artists' Collective Association, a nonprofit organization that assists artists pursuing professional careers through a networked community hosting special events and providing information on artist workshops, funding, mentorship and employment opportunities.

The record Angel of Victory was ambitiously self-produced and mastered by Rob Fillo out of his private studio in Richmond, BC. Rob Fillo is a pioneer of the indie sound in a rapidly changing music industry.

For more information on Rob Fillo and his record Angel of Victory, or to schedule an interview, email robfillomusic@gmail.com or phone 778.321.0987. You can also find additional information such as show dates and music samples at his website www.robfillo.com.

The album is also available on iTunes

Exile Kings – Hear The Call
posted by: CME

Exile KingsFor many people, music is a calling too strong to ignore. Manoo Halati, the creator of New York City’s Exile Kings is one of those people.

After years of letting his dreams fall to the side Manoo left behind the security of the nine to five to dedicate himself to his passion. The result? A truly astonishing debut album that is likely to shake up the indie music scene.

Shine, the product of six months’ worth of inspiration and a fair helping of blood, sweat and tears, combines the songwriting know-how
of a Damien Rice or John Frusciante with the pop and rock sensibilities of bands like The Verve or Coldplay.

Exile Kings is a particularly apt name for the project Manoo embarked on.. He was a man who felt himself exiled from his true passion and, in a way, exiled from life. The name also comes from Manoo’s background as an Iranian-American. While physically distant from the struggle for freedom going on in his fatherland, the emotional connection remains strong, as seen by some of Shine’s more powerful lyrical moments.

Before the album began to take shape, Manoo met Brooklyn producer Craig Levy – aka Little Pioneer. Together, the pair crafted a unique sound for the Exile Kings.

It was an organic process, with many of the songs remaining ephemeral experiments right up until the moment they were finished. Sometimes the music is an explosion of creative energy, while at others it is an intimate whisper. But throughout, the Exile Kings sound remains both unique and captivating.

Naturally given the disillusionment Manoo felt before finding his musical salvation, the songs are about loss, alienation and broken hearts. But they are also about hope, joy and redemption.

In fact, Shine is about everything that a great rock album should be about-life, with all its highs and lows. And, on a personal level, it is about one man finding his path through the world thanks to the miraculous redemptive power of music.

Shine is out on January 25, with a series of New York shows to follow. Watch this space!
