Biography

Currently in the progress of finalizing his first major project "The Stories Of Strife" self managed hip hop artist Jonathan Gentile, known to most as LB "The Jack Of All Trades" strived to make an impact on the hip hop community since 2005.  Being of Trinidadian and Italian decent facing constant moves and hardships while growing up with his mother, he has come to terms with the fact that music is no longer seen as a hobby of his but a passion and something he wants to pursue in life.  Although his parents separated at a young age he is thankful to have been blessed with support on both ends during his development as an artist.  He currently resides in White Plains, NY and is attending Pace University with a business management major.

LB in affiliation with A&R Select decided to launch his artist development program effective as of December 2008.  He has been noted to be a "Jack Of All Trades" and a "Self Made Man" for the fact that he has managed every aspect of his work himself all the way from lyrical content, to mixing and mastering and even the occasional instrumental production.  Although not able to find his niche in instrumental production LB decided that it would be best to just stay focused on his lyrical content for the time being.  One thing fans and reviewers noted about his material is the amount of selectivity put in when choosing a track to work with.  Insisting that instrumentation and lyrical arrangements can both make or break a hit record he leases only those tracks in which he feels a connection to.  A song that portrays this would be "I Dont Wanna Cry" produced by Raw Key Productions.  His music has also been noted by others to be very emotional, insightful, personal and diverse.  Since 2005 LB's performed live at several venues in the New York area including Aura Nightclub located in White Plains, NY.  The Avenue Lounge in Queens, open mics all around the different boroughs of NYC and Pace University.  He's managed to build up his own studio due to unreliable sources for the services he desired and he continues to spread his music out on streaming channels across the internet in hopes of one day being able to catch a break in the industry.

Balancing out his musical work along with a job to finance the many expenses he faces, he's attending college at  Pace University with a business management major. Juggling all three at times is difficult but he hopes that with the knowledge obtained from school he can get a better outlook of the music industry as whole.  Knowing that it will take hard work and dedication he continues to strive forward.

The influences of his work are solely based on his life experiences however his styles of work, lyrical formation and instrumental taste have been influenced by many different types of music and artists.  Growing up to listening to mostly alternative and rock bands such as KoRn and Nirvana he admires and loves to work with producers who either sample these types of music or put a hip hop twist to original pop rock beats.  He started to branch off listening to hip hop when he became a fan of Kid Rock.  Kid Rocks earliest release "Devil Without A Cause" contained a hip hop rock song that featured Eminem, one of his biggest influences to date.  Hearing this song LB branched off and started listening to more hip hop artists.  The hip hop work today which placed an influence on him are those artists whom speak of truth and real issues, not all the materialistic items.  Such artists include but aren't limited to Eminem, Nas, Biggie, 2pac, Jadakiss, TI and many more.
